In 2006 Lionel Sawyer & Collins was acknowledged by both Clark County Legal Services and Washoe Legal Services for its continued commitment to pro bono work.
The Firm received the Lied Award from Clark County Legal Services for the most pro bono hours contributed by a law firm. The Firm also received a Senatorial Recognition from U.S. Senator John Ensign in honor of the Firm receiving the Lied Award. Lionel Sawyer & Collins’ 817 pro bono hours were the most contributed by any Southern Nevada firm. Jennifer J. DiMarzio, a Gaming and Regulatory Law attorney at Lionel Sawyer & Collins, was a recipient of the Two Hundred Hour Club award. Elizabeth Brickfield (Business Law) was recognized in the One Hundred Hours Club; and Lynn S. Fulstone (Business Law), Doreen Spears Hartwell (Litigation) and Craig A. Henderson (Litigation) were recognized in the Fifty Hours Club. The Pro Bono Awards are held by Clark County Pro Bono Project (a division of Clark County Legal Services) and Clark County Bar Association.
Lionel Sawyer & Collins also received Washoe Legal Services’ Large Firm Pro Bono Award for 2006. Washoe Legal Services annually acknowledges distinguished law firms and individual lawyers who have given free professional legal counsel and assistance to Washoe County citizens who cannot afford legal fees.
