Craig Etem is a shareholder in the Business Law Department of Lionel Sawyer & Collins, practicing primarily in business transactions. Mr. Etem represents large and small companies and those that are both privately and publicly held. His practice involves a wide range of business matters, including corporate consolidations, recapitalizations, and formations as well as real estate transactions and secured and unsecured loans, loan workouts and foreclosures. Craig recognizes that every transaction, no matter the size, is important to the client and he strives to provide effective and responsive representation to every client.
Craig has represented Las Vegas Sands Corp., the owner of the Venetian and Palazzo resort casinos since 2004 in real estate and corporate matters, Nevada State Bank since 2003 in loan, foreclosure and workout scenarios and First Republic Bank as Nevada corporate counsel for over ten years.
Craig led the team of Lionel Sawyer & Collins attorneys who prepared the Nevada section of the Lexis Practice Advisor, an online publication introduced by LexisNexis Legal & Professional in 2012 that offers practical guidance, legal content and analysis designed for attorneys handling transactional matters. He is also a contributor to Lionel Sawyer & Collins's publication Doing Business in Nevada (2012). Craig is a well-regarded speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars relating to real property, corporate and other transactional matters.
Prior to attending law school, Craig worked in the real estate management and development industry for 13 years. His extensive background in business combined with his legal training allows Craig unique insight and knowledge as he represents the firm's clients in business transactions. Craig is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law and Real Estate Law, and in Chambers USA for Corporate/Commercial Law. He has an AV rating in the Martindale-Hubbell directory.
Craig is a volunteer tutor with the Washoe County School District and is active in a variety of local matters, including improving the quality of education in northern Nevada. He is a member of the advisory board of the Nevada Land Trust, a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving many of the special places found in northern Nevada. Craig is devoted to his wife and two daughters and spends his free time with them, skiing, cycling and enjoying the bounty of the Lake Tahoe area.
